There were celebrations at Sedgehill Academy in Lewisham today, as Sixth Formers secured their university offers – including to a range of top Russell Group institutions – and received their A Level results.

Among those celebrating was Ben Levy, who secured an impressive straight set of three A*s in his A Levels. This has allowed him to take up his offer to study Psychology at the University of Southampton.

For Level 3 equivalent qualifications, the top performing student was Charley Danks who achieved a double Distinction*. She will now be heading to the University of Greenwich to study for a degree in Business.

Other students celebrating particular successes include:

  • Jonathan Mbanefo, who will be heading to the University of Nottingham to study Engineering;
  • Ashane Case, who is going to the University of Kent to study Law;
  • Charli Dickenson, who has secured a place at the University of Sussex to study Maths.
  • Endrit Haziri, who will be studying Marketing at study at Queen Mary’s University
  • Glen Frimpong, who is off to Kingston University to study aeronautical engineering
  • Gizem Ibryam, who will become a much sought-after woman in engineering at London South Bank University
  • Arthiran Katpakanantha, who will be studying radiology at the University of Cardiff

Commenting on students’ achievements, Clare Cassidy, Principal at Sedgehill Academy, said:

“We are very pleased for all our students celebrating today, as they come to the end of seven years of study with such a strong set of university offers. Their results reflect their commitment and hard work and have opened doors to some excellent degree programmes, including at the most prestigious Russell Group universities.

“Today’s achievements – with over 50% of A Levels taken resulting in A*, A or B grades, demonstrate the progress that Sedgehill Academy has made since becoming part of United Learning.

I would like to congratulate all of our students on a great set of results, and thank our dedicated team of staff for all their hard work. We wish our young people the very best of luck as they take their next steps.”
