Student Wellbeing & Safeguarding

At Sedgehill we take the well-being and safety of all our students very seriously.  We have a culture and climate of students speaking openly and honestly about concerns they have, how they are feeling and worries they may have about school and their personal lives. We offer support for students through our superb  pastoral support systems of tutors, heads of year and our inclusion team.

All of our staff receive regular training on keeping students safe and we have a rigorous system whereby staff can also report concerns on the well-being and welfare of students.

If you are concerned about the well-being, welfare, safety and health of your own child, you should contact your child’s Head of Year for a meeting to discuss your concerns further.

If you have a concern about the well-being, welfare, safety and health of another child who attends Sedgehill, you should contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Machel Hewitt , on the email address below. If this concern is urgent and you feel a child is in immediate danger you should contact the police.

Contact our DSL, Machel Hewitt  -  machel.hewitt@sedgehillacademy.org.uk

All concerns will be dealt with sensitively by the DSL.
