Y6-7 Transition 2023
Welcome to Sedgehill Academy
On behalf of all of the staff and students at Sedgehill, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to all of our new year 7 students joining us in September 2023, and to all new parents and carers too. Our academy has been educating children from the local community for over 50 years and we are really looking forward to meeting you all.
The transition from primary to secondary school can be a daunting prospect for young people, so our aim is to make it as smooth and stress-free as possible. We have lots of exciting activities planned for the spring and summer to help our new students to get to know their new school and each other.

Thursday 22nd June 2023 - New Families Transition Meeting (times to follow)
An important meeting for parents, carers and new students to come in and meet with Academy staff.
We have created a dedicated Facebook group for new families of students joining us this September so please do join the group if you have a Facebook account:
The group is for sharing information, asking questions and to enable you to meet other families in the same cohort. If you do not have a Facebook account, you don’t need to worry, we will also be sending everything out via email too.
We have an open door policy because we are very proud of our academy. If you would like to come and visit us please book a place on one of our Friday morning tours so you can come and see our disruption free lessons in progress.
