Sedgehill Academy’s Sixth Formers Look Set for Bright Futures

The atmosphere at Sedgehill Academy’s Sixth Form was buzzing as Year 13 received their A Level and equivalent results – with many delighted to secure their destinations of choice.

This year across the Sixth Form, over half (56%) of all A Level entries were graded as A* to B, with a fifth (22%) of them awarded a top grade of A* or A.

Among those celebrating were:

· Nikita, who achieved an A* in Maths, As in Further Maths and Physics and a B in Chemistry and will be taking up a place at King’s College London;

· Claudia, who achieved an A* in Drama, As in Maths and Politics and a B in Further Maths and will be studying Maths at University College London (UCL);

· Rachel, who achieved straight As in Geography, Drama and Sociology, and will be studying Marketing at the University of Leeds;

· Isabella, who achieved a Distinction* in Media, Distinction*Distinction in Business and a B in Sociology and will be going on to a place at the University of Essex for Film Studies.

Today’s celebrations reflect years of hard work, ambition and integrity for our Sixth Formers so it is a pleasure to share in their happiness and achievements. What is particularly special is that across this group of Year 13s they have secured such a rich array of destinations – matching the variety of their interests and aspirations as individuals. From those who are looking forward to continuing their studies at top universities, to our dedicated athletes, to those pursuing creative fields or technical professions, they can each take pride in knowing they will be taking their next steps with the qualifications they need to progress and the skills and attributes for success.
