Student-athletes compete regularly in recognised competitions including the CBL, AoC Basketball League, Dynamik Schools Competition and international tournaments, giving players the opportunity to develop their skills in variety of competitive environments.

Each player receives guidance and feedback to help them develop their strengths, improve areas of their game, and build confidence on the court.

Students will gain exposure to different pathways within the sport, including opportunities to explore coaching, officiating, and further participation in basketball beyond school.

Coach Sterling
Coach Sterling leads the Sedgehill Basketball Academy programme, bringing a wealth of national and international coaching experience. He has a strong passion for developing young athletes and committed to helping players reach their potential by creating a professional and disciplined training environment where players can develop their skills, improve their basketball IQ, and grow in confidence. Coach Sterling focuses not only on technical and tactical development but also character building, leadership, and teamwork, helping students become well-rounded individuals both on and off the court.
Coach Gabbi
Coach Gabbi is the Women's Head Coach. As an ex-player, now coach and national and superleague referee, Coach Gabbi provides student-athletes with a deep understanding of the game from multiple perspectives. Her approach focuses on player development, confidence building, and creating a positive and inclusive team culture where every athlete is encouraged to challenge themselves and improve. With a strong passion for supporting young athletes, Coach Gabbi works closely with players to help them develop their skills, game awareness, and love for the sport, while also supporting their personal growth and resilience.
