Sedgehill Academy is proud to announce the impressive achievements of our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results. This year’s outcomes are a testament to our students' and staff's hard work, resilience, and determination.
In total, 65% of our students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, with 42% securing a grade 5 or higher. These strong results reflect the high standards and commitment to excellence at the heart of Sedgehill Academy.
We are particularly proud to highlight the achievements of some of our standout students:
- Ange: Achieved an outstanding ten grade 9s, one grade 8, and an A in Additional Maths.
- Claudia: Secured five grade 9s, four grade 8s, and one grade 7.
These individual successes, along with the overall performance of our Year 11 cohort, are a source of great pride for the entire Sedgehill Academy community.
Our students shared insights into what contributed to their success. One Year 11 student remarked, “Being disciplined is what really helped me.” Ange-Evry added, “Always try to be just a little better today than you were yesterday,” Aedan commented, “Hard work paid off!”
These sentiments reflect the ethos of perseverance and self-improvement that we strive to instil in all our students.
Last week, our Sixth Form students also celebrated their A Level results, with many securing places at top universities and other exciting pathways. The success of our students at all levels underscores the rich, character-driven education provided at Sedgehill Academy.
Principal Clare Cassidy expressed her pride in the students’ accomplishments: “Over the entire course of their time with us, this group of students has shown real dedication and commitment to their studies, as well as being active members of our school community. We are proud of all those who are celebrating today, knowing that their hard work has resulted in some strong outcomes. We look forward to welcoming many of them back to continue their studies at our Sixth Form in just a few short weeks.”
As we look ahead to the new academic year, we are excited to build on these successes and continue supporting our students in achieving their full potential.
Congratulations to all our students on their fantastic achievements!
