Young Creatives Celebrate A-Level and BTEC Success at Sedgehill Academy 15th August 2024

Students at Sedgehill Academy in Lewisham celebrate today as they receive their A-Level and BTEC results. This year’s cohort has demonstrated outstanding talent and dedication, particularly among those pursuing careers in the creative arts.

Among the many achievements, three students have stood out for their exceptional results, which have secured them places in highly regarded creative programmes:
  • Huyen achieved an A* in Art, an A in Biology, and a Distinction* in Creative Digital Media. She will attend the Big Creative Academy to undertake an Art Foundation course, setting the stage for a promising future in the arts.
  • Olena earned an A in Art, a triple Distinction in Photography, and a Merit in Engineering. She is set to study 3D for Games and Film at Middlesex University, a course that aligns perfectly with her creative aspirations.
  • Lili secured a triple Distinction* in Photography, a Distinction in Creative Digital Media, and a C in Art, showcasing her broad creative skills and dedication.
Reflecting on her achievements, Olena said, "Thank you so much to everyone at Sedgehill who helped me achieve my dreams." Huyen also expressed her gratitude, adding, “I'm so happy with my results and would like to thank everyone at Sedgehill for their input over the last seven years.”
Clare Cassidy, Principal at Sedgehill Academy, praised the students' hard work and dedication, saying, “Our aim is to give all our students the education, advice, and support they need to thrive and develop as young people and make the right choices for them as they take their next steps. It is fantastic to see the breadth of talents and interests we have in this group of Year 13s, whether that is those who are pursuing highly creative studies or those who choose more traditional professions. We are very pleased for all of the students celebrating their achievements today and wish them well as they move on with confidence.”
The Sedgehill Academy community celebrates these successes and looks forward to seeing the bright futures that await our students as they continue their journeys.
