The step up from GCSE to A Level is a big one so each department has created a Sixth Form Transition Pack for students who are planning to join our Sixth Form in September. It is really important for you to prepare yourself for the subjects that you have chosen so you can start positively and 'hit the ground running'. We also hope that you will find the packs stimulating, interesting and enjoyable to complete over the next few months.
The work that has been set varies in nature from course to course. It might involve learning some basics, reviewing some fundamental GCSE ideas, or broadening your understanding of a subject with wider reading or research. This is your first step in becoming a Sixth Form student and undertaking independent learning. We hope that you will take pride in completing this work; your teachers will certainly look forward to discussing it with you when they see you in person.
We recommend students not only complete transition work for the three or four subjects they have chosen, but also for their reserve subject or any other subjects they have considered studying.
