This March, Sedgehill Academy celebrates World Book Day with a series of enriching activities and trips:
Years 7-12 are set for exciting theatre outings, with Year 7 seeing "Matilda," Year 8 "Wicked," Year 9 "Romeo and Juliet," Year 10 participating in the Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge, Year 11 enjoying an in-school screening of "Macbeth" (2015), and Year 12 attending "Hamilton."
Special Events: Our World Book Day celebrations include a Costume House competition, a Form Time House Quiz, the launch of the National Teen Book Club, a Book Day cake sale on March 7th, and a token design competition in Mr. Wharton’s art club.
The Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge workshop for Year 10 aims to empower students with public speaking skills, while the National Teen Book Club, in partnership with Penguin Publishing, invites KS3 and KS4 students to delve into "King of Dead Things" by Nevin Holness.
Let's celebrate the power of reading and storytelling together!
