Principal's Welcome

On behalf of all our students and staff, I would like to thank you for taking an interest in Sedgehill Academy and visiting our website.

Sedgehill Academy is part of United Learning, a group of schools that uniquely covers both the state and independent sectors. We collaborate closely across the group, allowing us at Sedgehill to draw on a very talented pool of education professionals.

In the summer of 2022, we were absolutely delighted to have been officially recognised as a Good School by Ofsted.

Our Academy is inclusive and welcoming, we value and respect students of all faiths, backgrounds and abilities. Our ambition is to bring out the best in everyone. We offer an outstanding education in a warm and supportive environment, uniting high academic achievement with strong development of character. We have high expectations for all our students and reject the view that success in life is pre-determined or that our talents are fixed.

We believe that with hard work, kindness, integrity and excellence our students will find success. These are our Academy values.

Our top priority is always teaching and learning, high quality of lessons day in, day out. As a staff, we continually develop our practice and regularly talk about the pedagogy of teaching.

If you visit us, you will experience the good relationships between our students and between students and staff, as well as the strong focus on students' academic success. You will see a broad curriculum, fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities, a wide range of enrichment activities and a disruption-free learning environment. You will find a caring and friendly environment, with a culture of aspiration where everyone is striving to bring out the best in themselves and each other.

I hope that you have found the answers to your questions on this website. If not, please do contact us for further information. If you are interested in attending Sedgehill Academy or working as part of our team, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

With very best wishes,

Clare Cassidy
